About IEQG

IEQG (Inland Empire Quilters Guild) is an organization founded in 1981 by Rusty Hedrick with just ten members in tow, with the intent to promote the love of quilting through education and fellowship.  Our objective, as a charitable organization, is to promote and preserve the art of quilting and continue the traditions, cultures and history of quilt making among our members as well as the community.  Supporting projects which promote the continuation of quilt arts and quilt techniques, including participation by quilt instructors, allows our members to hone their skills in the fabrication of beautiful quilts that warm the body.  Other techniques allow members to construct art quilts that are used for wall hangings or table runners, bringing the love of all things quilted into their homes.

Every two years, our Guild hosts a Quilt Show which showcases the fabulous works of art created by our guild members.  Through IEQG meetings, our members exchange ideas, encourage each other to complete projects, and instruct others in methods and techniques of creative quilting, including the use of various textiles and embellishments.  There are a myriad of events each month in which members can participate, including the Block of the Month (BOM) exchange, fat quarter exchange, Secret Pal gift exchange, and the semi-monthly opportunity basket.  Door prizes, donated by our local quilt shops, can be won each month by a lucky member! To maintain our charitable status, it is both a requirement and a blessing to be able to provide quilts to the Corona Alternative to Domestic Violence (ADV) office, which supports both the mother and the children who are taking a new path in their lives away from violence.  During each Christmas holiday season, our members provide ADV with small quilted stockings for the children who must spend their holiday in the ADV shelter with personal items being donated for the mothers of the children.  In addition, our guild members gather bi-yearly to work together on various quilt projects for ADV and other charitable purposes.
